I SEE YOU In recent times one of the most important and useful tool in solving crimes are CCTV cameras. Even when there is no evidence of a crime there always seems to be a witness in the form of such cameras. This led me into deep thought. There is an inbuilt CCTV in all of us that captures all our experiences and stores it in our memory drive. Most of the files in the drive are accessible whenever we want to cherish and relish but there are few hidden files which we dare not open, these are the files that we have condemned to be hidden from the world. This drive is called our unconscious self and the folder named Conscience. I mustered the required guts and looked past my façade. I wanted to know if I am what I claim to be. I wanted to see if I can love myself enough after looking into those files that I have safely stored away from others eyes not realizing my CCTV has recorded them as well. This has been the most difficult task of my life. I have always seen myself as a...

THE DILEMMA Is it? Is it not? Is it? Is it not? Is it? I walked plucking each petal from the red rose in my hand, allowing fate to decide my future, instead of understanding the importance of each choice I make, each step I take in creating the world I want to live in. Black or white, bicycle or by walk, pig tails or pony tail, knee high or ankle high socks, eyeliner or kajal, ladies special or unisex, front bench or back bench, friendly or bitchy, wedding or career, kids or career, foreign or local, to be or not to be……each and every choice always had two sides to it where I could let the red rose decide or I could make the decision and blame it on the red rose (which was easier). Life always throws two options in our path “The right one and the wrong one”. As I have learnt from my early childhood the right path is always filled with thorns and stones & the wrong one a walk in the park. But one wrong choice will lead you to another and yet another till w...

Mask off The most used sentence in the entire world for the past 2 years, wear your mask, don’t take your mask off, Mask on and when I think about it don’t we all wear masks everyday right from the time we reach adulthood. I have multiple masks, for different occasions, I wear it according to my mood or what the situation calls for, my favorite mask is called Smile. When happy I smile (obviously), when sad I smile (to hide my tears), when angry I smile (to hide my frustration), when lying I smile (to protect the bitch inside), when hurting I smile (to protect the child inside), when parenting I smile (to understand my kids), when I succeed I smile (to show my gratitude), when I fail I smile (to protect my self esteem), When I know the truth I smile (to accept what is to come). Sometimes I wonder if that’s the only mask I put on for all my moods or what the situation calls for, my Smile. I also wonder what will happen if I show the real me. Will I still be loved by my fami...

WHO AM I? ππ Started my journey as a daughter, then continued as a sister later chose to be a wife then blessed to become a mother, but apart from holding on to all such titles what is my identity, not how people see me but how I want to be seen by the world. Who Am I? Let me start from the beginning, my earliest memory when I asked myself this question for the first time. I must have been 4 or 5 years old. I asked my daddy, Who am I? His ever smiling face beamed with love as he picked me up in his chubby hands sat me on his lap and said you are my princess. I was not satisfied with that reply, so I persisted, no daddy, who am I? His brows creased a bit, pondering the right response, he smiled again and said you are my precious daughter named after my mother and he started explaining the meaning of my name when I dozed off still not receiving the reply I was looking for. The next time this question arose was when I blamed my wrong doing on my brother to escape my...
